Hi Everyone! Here are some scans of literature from the Federation of Gay Games about the 2018 Paris Gay Games. Please forward these to your fellow members and let our IFR representatives to the FGG - Zander Ross or Wayne Morgan - know if you have any questions. We will be mailing physical copies of these to officers of each of the clubs in order to be distributed to membership. By the way, the running events are filling up fast, so it would be a good idea to register early and choose the events in which you will be competing. I look forward to seeing you all there! Richard

Yannick AsselinIn the meantime there's really no impact to local clubs except that they should drop their own GLISA memberships if they have one. I guess we'll wait to see what happens to the currently planned events of GLISA and the fate of GLISA overall in the wake of this catastrophic failure. Let's be positive and look forward to more success for other LGBT sports festivals around the world that have better management and more chances of success!

Wayne MorganAll FR clubs are autonomous and can affiliate with any organisation. IFR has voted to resign from GLISA international body. IFR does not have membership of continental GLISA....😎

Jose Mari PerezIn light of what Wayne Morgan indicated above, I am curious how many clubs, if any, are re-evaluating their relationship with GLISA?

Dear all,

After the Miami fiasco and fun that we managed to have anyway, and after getting SO MANY questions from many of you, I thought I should recap the few elements below, as, maybe, a way to reassure you about the upcoming Paris Gay Games. I will just mention that I am not Paris 2018 myself, just a member of the Paris Front Runners board who happened to be in Miami and agreed to be the modest voice of Paris 2018 to the running and track&field community.

So here we are plenty of reasons that personally convince me that Paris 2018 will be so good, and I hope they convince you to register:

- Our new president Emmanuel Macron is not only cute, he was the only candidate to have an explicit reference to Paris 2018 Gay Games in his program
- One of our dear Paris 2018 Patrons, multi-medaled fencing athlete Laura Flessel, is now Sports Minister in Macron’s new government! We are very excited by this level of support!
- Support by all State, Region and City government is clear and non-ambiguous
- Most venues are now committed, more than a year before the event
- While the marathon and half will be subcontracted to a professional race organizer, with the advice of the Paris Front Runners, the same Paris Front Runners (a club of 350 members) has committed to manage directly the full week of Track & Field and the 5K & 10K races, with committed support by the FFA (French National Athletics Federation)
- For 18 years the PFR have been successfully managing a 10K race of 1000 participants / 100 volunteers called the Valentine race
- For 14 years the French FSGL has been managing the LGBT "Paris Tournament", with 2300 participants this year, and the PFR have been managing the Track & Field and 5K/10K races of the Paris Tournament
- We have expressly managed the calendar so as to allow runners to compete in all the following
o Triathlon on Sunday Aug 5
o 10K on Monday Aug 6
o 5K on Thursday Aug 9
o Marathon or Half on Saturday Aug 11
o Long Track distances on mornings or afternoons that are compatible with the above races
- An optional cancellation can be subscribed (for 5.5 euros) to cover your registration fees in cases such as injury or change of vacation schedule by your employer
- I believe it can also be argued that Gay Games and the FGG know what they are doing and have demonstrated their control of the games for 35 years. Confusing FGG and what happened in Miami does not seem fair at all.

Ah, and finally, be aware that there will be a small fare increase on June 12 ; you may want to at least register before June 12 (and take more time to choose your sport in you need)

Warren SnaiderGood selection. But you may or may not have heard that the USA will have no proclamation this year for GLBT Pride Month. Alas. P.S. GLBT is an acronym best pronounced as if it were in Yiddish. Gelibte is a word that means "beloved."

Hi Front Runners who were at World OutGames- thanks to those who organized alternative events, got that discount from the other area 5K, did their own runs, or got the "track" part of track and field going. I wanted to pass on that many of us have successfully gotten our registration and event fees refunded from our credit card companies via fraud disputes. We're filling out the affidavits for fraud and providing the news articles about the fraud investigations by the police and AG. Safe travels to those heading home. ... See moreSee less
